Glen Ackerman

Glen is one of Houston’s premiere jazz Bass players. He is an experienced teacher and band leader, as well. Currently he leads the instrumental music at Wildwood Methodist Church and coaches the U of H Jazz Band rhythm section. He also teaches bass and guitar at several Houston area music stores including Arbor Music. Recent accomplishments are playing bass with Chris Cortez every Friday night at Crabby Daddy’s in Spring. He has also played with Randy Brecker, Bill Charlap and appears on Henry Darragh’s new CD “Tell Her For Me”.

 

 

Eric Williams

Eric Williams shows off his new Stonebridge guitar. He teaches all styles of guitar and is sometimes known for making his students learn how to read music.

 

 

Chris Chimene

Chris has become an accomplished musician in the seven years he has been playing guitar. He has been teaching guitar at Arbor Music for the past two years. Chris studied with Terrie Fleming at Lone Star College – Montgomery, and before that with Rusty Cooley. He teaches a wide range of styles from Classical, Jazz Improvisation, Rock, Metal, Acoustic, and is skilled in music theory, scales and modes, chord anatomy, fret board memorization. In addition to teaching, Chris is the singer songwriter formerly known as The Muffin Man.

 

 

Austen Gustine

Austen started playing the guitar only 6 years ago. The first four years he spent studying classical guitar. The next year he immersed himself in Stevie Ray Vaughn’s Texas Flood learning every song on the CD. In addition to teaching at Arbor Music, Austen plays in several local bands and at several area churches. Most recently he has been performing with Rag Top of Conroe, Texas.

 

 

Adam McFarland

Adam has been teaching guitar at Arbor Music for 4-5 years. Many of his students have been taking from him for several years. He plays in several rock bands in the Houston/Conroe area. In addition to teaching Adam has a recording studio where he produces recordings of up and coming musicians. Adam enjoys teaching kids and adults how to rock.

 

 

Jesse Williams

Jesse won 2nd place in the Texas State Banjo competition. He teaches both banjo and guitar. His favorite bands right now are the Beatles and Muse.

 

 

Terrie Fleming

Terrie Fleming learned her skills at Cantrell’s Music, her parent’s music store, in Florence Alabama. Growing up in a music store she learned to play various instruments and even taught her way through the University of Northern Alabama which was within walking distance of the store. Terrie teaches piano, guitar and banjo at Arbor Music (yes, she toured on banjo when she was in high school) She is also on the faculty at Lone Star College in the Woodlands where she teaches guitar and music theory. Terrie’s really enjoys teaching and makes learning to play FUN, as it should be.

 

 

Irina Srumova

Irina is an award winning Russian pianist. She graduated from the Ufa Art College, where she studied with the late Professor L.G. Kudoyarova.

 

 

Rosie Williams

Rosie Williams loves teaching the little ones to play the piano. She has been playing and taking lessons, herself, for 8 years. Rosie is also a singer and has won various singing competitions in Texas including Classical Singer Competition and All-State Choir.

 

 

Robin Williams

Robin Williams has been teaching and performing in the Houston area for many years. Her teaching experience includes directing orchestra in Katy ISD as well as giving private lessons. She most enjoys giving individual lessons to students of all ages and levels. Whether you are interested in learning classical, celtic or fiddlin’ music, you can learn it here.

 

 

Cindy Hersey

Cindy Hersey has her degree in music from University of Colorado at Boulder. She taught choir for a while in the schools before pursuing other professional interests. She moved to Texas to be near her grand kids and now teaches at Arbor Music where she instills here love of music in students of all ages. Cindy teaches piano and voice.
